2007 FFTF - A weekend of big lows and great highs
Friday morning we loaded up Dave's 1991 Honda Accord Wagon with 4 bikes
1. Seven Sola
2. Titus Racer-X
3. Seven Duo
4. Black Sheep Rigid SS
hmmm.....$20,000+ worth of bikes on a $1500 car (it had 276,000 miles on it
)
We start off ~10:30 - hoping for a 2:30 arrival to hit the Mary's area for a couple hours of riding then dinner with the crew @ Fiesta Guadalajara @ 7:30.
Just past Vail Pass the car started making a "funny" noise. We pulled over in Avon determined the engine was toast and luckily were able to rent a mini-van @ the Eagle Airport. 3.5 hours later we were back on our way. What a way to start a weekend. :( oh and btw - those Dodge Caravan stow-and-go mini-vans ROCK!
We made it to dinner and then got a good nights sleep.
Saturday we rode the GJ area - some nice singletrack with Holy Cross thrown in. Holy Cross was FUN! Love that trail. Dave rode his hardtail Seven, Sasha was on her Titues, Isabelle (she joined us from CA) on her El Camino Ti SS and I was on the rigid. Fun Stuff!
We made it back in time for the Clunker Crit. Sarah had a 'spare' tandem which she and Isabelle competed on. Here's Sarah throwing the Victory sign. Dave and I hopped on the tandem for the last race - all I can say was that was SCARY.
After a little rest and a shower - we headed up to 18 road for
some riding. Here's a pic of Sasha ripping it up on Kessler. We had a group of 15 for dinner. One of our group cooked us an awesome veggie pasta dinner - wine, beer and good conversation flowed. 
Sunday morning came we packed up and headed out for a 2 hour ride in the Mary's area. Dave rode quite a bit of the Horsetheif entrance (scaring the crap out of me) and I rode of bit of it too. I was pretty proud of myself considering i was on the rigid. (yes - i rode the drop in the foreground)
Fortunately it was an incident free drive home!

We had a very nice time even though it may have seemed like we were pre-occupied and quiet - the mental prep for the endurance stuff is tough.
Yesterday was a hoot on Ribbon, Eagles, Holy Cross, etc. Jeny ripped it up, again!
