Sad/happy news - Phil's moving

My good friend, Phil Mazza, moved from Boulder to Kenniwick, WA today. It is sad for me - because I'll miss him but good for him because he is moving to be with this long-distance girlfriend.

I met Phil via the Hawklist in 2001 when I posted about a racetrack day -- he responded and introduced himself. Phil has a Hawk too! We went on a group ride and have been friends ever since.

In addition - Phil referred me for a job at McKesson. I LOVE working for McKesson and I love my job - so I tell Phil "because of you my life is so good!" (well jobwise anyway ;) )

He's a great friend and is as much as a bike geek as me (but he's a roadie/tri guy - usually does a couple of Ironmans a year). So we talking about bikes(big surprise, eh), training (ad nauseam), relationships, food/beer - you know all the important stuff.

I've seen Phil go through tumultuous relationships - so when he met this girl who not only was a trialthete - BUT she's got her sh!t together and her head on straight. It's just a big bummer she lives in friggin' WA.

Anyways - I wish him the best (he deserves it) but will greatly miss him.
