ode to my sister

My wonderful sister, Patricia, is retiring this year. She's 42 years old.

I'm very proud of her - she's achieved so much in her short life and she's ready to set off to a new adventure. Her new goal is to practice medicine as a PA in a 3rd world country. In her own words "I'm ready to *serve* a different population".

For the past 10+ years she's been a Physician's Assistant specializing in Dermatology. She's made her mark in that field by spearheading new PA derm societies and writing several articles for Derm magazines. She's a super "go-getter" for sure.

To any of my friends that have met her - you can understand after you meet her - why I describe her as "the better version of me". I don't mean this as a slam against myself (trust me I like myself just fine ;) ) - but she's the way i am - only kinder, more intense, more frugal, more focused, more determined, just a better person in general.

Anyway - after returning from her sailing trip - she turned in her notice today. She says she feels happy and good about her decision and it feels great to "get out while she's on top".

To my wonderful, beautiful (inside and outside) sister and my BESTEST friend in the whole world. Go get 'em sis! :)
