So the race season ends - with a fizzle...

The Fall Classic was to be my last race of the season since I wouldn't be doing Moab in Oct.

I had asked Jeff from MavSports if he would do a SingleSpeed category and he agreed. He did say it was gonna be brutal tho. BUT i felt like I was up for the challenge.

I was confident I would have my bike back from Dean as they said it would be 2 weeks and they had it for over 6 weeks. SURELY it would be ready by September 23rd, right???

Frantic calls to Dean all this week were to no avail. The bike wouldn't be ready. I'd have to do the race on my geared bike.

However the weather was looking sketchy. Possible snow in the mountains. How much - I was hoping for not too much. I had made plans to stay with my friend, Ward in Breck - so that was a go.

Then it started snowing in Summit County.

Then we got the word - the race was cancelled due to trail conditions. As Jeff from MavSports says - ' a picture is worth a thousand words'. Check out the course. The orange arrow indicate the course directions. and they are about 3 feet off the ground.

Riding in the high country is over for the season. :(
