spur of the moment

I've been a parent pretty much all of my adult life. So when Ricky went off to college and I was single - for the first time as an adult - I didn't have to answer to anyone.

So in March 2000 when a girlfriend asked if I wanted to go to Europe for 2 weeks - I astonishingly realized - I didn't have to get
approval or coordinate with anyone and I could just say "yes! i'll come!" how shocking!

Even now 7 years later it's still a pleasant surprise when i realize I can go out to dinner on a whim with my friends or take a nap in the afternoon without having to worry about anyone else.

Yesterday, my friend, Alex, of Bikerpelli Sports offered me a spot a mtn bike trip this weekend. It's a 3 day - 100mile mtn bike tour ending with a 35mile day doing the Monarch Crest. Oh the spur of the moment - I said "yes". wow - 7 years later spur of the moment decisions are still a wonderful surprise for me. :D
