I have a serious problem....it's a boot problem

Yes -  I have a boot problem.  Is 14 pair too many??

2009 on a NM mtn bike road trip - my friend, Ben caught me braiding my hair before a ride...had to wait until the last second to trade the boots for my red sidis.  :)
Putting on a pair of boots makes everything better.   Just ask yourself that question and the answer is always "yes!".    Some say it makes them feel sassy - others say no matter how slouchy they are dressed if you put on a pair of boots then that pulls the outfit together. I'm in the sassy camp - I totally love 'boot weather'.

My boot collection has grown in the past 3 years.

I have small feet but also have big calves from cycling.  Lucky for me a lot of shoe manufacturers don't make size 5 and when they do sometimes they won't fit over my calves (tho i've been know to get the calf area stretched to make them fit....)which probably saves me a TON of money!

I'd say I like a comfortable but a slightly edgy style of boot. Even tho I am only 4'10" my feet cringe at the thought of high heels.

I do like a little bit of a lift  so I'm drawn to chunky heels that aren't much over 2" high.  I don't like the pointy toed shoes either - I prefer the rounded toe or a square toe - not crazy about the idea of forcing my feet into a point and developing bunions.

Here's how the collection stands as of now.

These are my favorites - the brand is Hispanitas. Size 5 that run a tad small - love the toe box and the red accent on the back of the boot.   I bought them at Nordstroms - sadly they haven't carried this brand in over 3 years.
my 2nd favorite pair - red patent leather.  A little bit of a heel, waterproof, great traction and comfortable.  LaCanadienne purchased from Zappos.com

LOVE these - cydwoqs.  The leather on these puppies is like butter - hand made in the USA. Purchased directly from the company Cydwoq (pronounced "sidewalk")

frye's  - frye's run big and their smallest size is usually 5.5 - I found these (a true size 5) on 6pm.com (zappos outlet site).  Yeah and ignore all those scars on my knees...  ;)

These don't look like much  but I LOVE the subtle detail.  The stitching on the heel, the staples near the wooden sole, the post pins on the pull tabs and the wide calves for tucking in skinny jeans. oh yeah!  Italian made - Vialis  - purchased at Nordstrom Rack

Super cute oxford style booties - the brand is Antelope & were purchased at Anthropologie

Love these badass moto style boots - looks great with skirts(and bike shorts!).  I get a lot of complements from guys when wearing these puppies.  Gee Wa Wa purchased from Endless.com

brown Miz Mooz boots - purchased from Nordstrom Rack.  A little high heeled for my taste and only get worn on rare occasions.

my old faithfuls - DKNY boots that are 18(!) years old.

This is one of my favorite brands - an Italian company - Moma.  Love the shaped wooden heel and detail on the toe box.  Purchased from yoox.com

Amazing leather and well constructed - these will last forever.  Sendras from Nordstroms
fluevogs - love these olive green boots that *hint* of cowboy boots but aren't the full on pointy toed kind.   these are totally sassy!

Another pair of Moma's - these are my "go-to" every day wear boots.  Love the wooden heel and they are just a tad  edgy.

Green Miz Mooz - so retro looking purchased somewhere in NYC in 2006

Places I shop

Other than checking out Nordstrom Rack a few times a year - I usually buy online and take advantage of all the free shipping/free returns offers from Endless and Zappos.  6pm.com does charge shipping but it's reasonable and throughout the year they have free shipping. (but not free returns).  If I order something online from Nordstroms or Antropologie - I try to take advantage for their free shipping offers and if it doesn't work out I can return to the local stores.

Here's my list of favorite online boot shops
1.  endless.com  (they have the most variety of styles + free shipping/returns!)
2.  nordstroms.com (love their styles and the fact they carry small sizes + free shipping/returns!)
3.  anthrolopogie.com (tho a lot of their styles are *too young* for me or *over the top* they have a great selection.  They are not consistent with carrying small sizes but sometimes I get lucky.)
4. yoox.com (LOVE this website - it's italian so they have a LOT of unique styles that you don't see anywhere else.  Love, love, LOVE the Moma, Geste Proposition, Cafe'Noir brands)
5. 6pm.com (zappos outlet site - if I had my eye on something @ zappos - I check this site to see it's gone on sale)
6. zappos.com (good selection of styles but lacking on small sizes but they do have free shipping/returns)

As of this season - I haven't added any boots to the collection...

But the following are on the wish list...

BUT I should probably wear a couple of pair of my current collection out before I add more...I mean after all - how many pair does a girl need??  ;)

In answer to your question, as many as she wants!!!

I love your boots. I am boot lover as well but I only have 4 pairs. I will have to add quite a few to catch up to you but I think I am up to the task!

I only recently got rid of a pair of tall black heeled boots that I bought years ago when I lived in NYC. I decided I couldn't take the heels on those babies any more (I was worried about how my calves might react--running's more important!). But boy they were good-lookin'!

So now I have one pair of Steve Maddens. They are flats, but I really dig them. I still can't wear them often--they make my arches hurt and again I worry about running.....But I still wear them sometimes.

I'm with you--I love boots!

Okay- we were clearly meant to be friends. Boot fixation! Yea!

My go-to boots as of late are a pair of Docs that look like motorcycle boots. Love those soles. Wore them almost every day tromping around Europe in the fall and never got tired.

A girl who runs, eats a bacon maple doughnut, and shops on Yoox? You are a rock star!!!
