traveling light
This weekend, Mark and one of his friends, Nils and I are riding the Colorado Trail from Kenosha Pass, spending the night in a condo in Breckenridge, and then riding back the next day. It promises to be a ~70 - 80 mile ride of mostly singletrack and 9k elevation gain. yipee!!!
After riding the Safire for 35miles and 5k feet of climbing last week - I'm opting to take the hardtail. At 21lbs it's the right choice for 2 big days of climbing.
Since we are spending the night in Breck - we have to carry any change of clothes, toiletries, food, etc on our back. I was able to squeeze my toiletries and change of clothes (to wear after the ride) into a small, light 7"x7" plastic bag. I'm pretty proud of myself. ;)
