don't judge a book by it's cover

This seems like I lesson I never quit learning.

I went to yoga the other day - the first time in months. I was looking forward to starting my day with Manmoud's class at Flatirons Athletic Club. He is an older Indian gentleman - very soft spoken - he has been teaching there since 1991. His hour long yoga classes flow very well.

I get to the class @ 7am and to my disappointment - Manmound wasn't there. Some other guy was the instructor.

First impressions
Now this new guy didn't look like a yoga instructor. When I saw him i mentally rolled my eyes and thought "who is this bozo?".

I swear the guy looked he should be a bouncer at a rock-and-roll club. He was a big,
tall (I'm guessing 6'2") and muscular guy. He was barrel chested and wearing a tight sleeveless armor all shirt with a flat-top styled haircut with blond highlights. I thought "what kind of yoga teacher is this dude?"

Eye opening
The class is an hour and wow - the guy was great. He moved from pose to pose very smoothly and held them for a nice length of time. He had the class do some stretches I've never done before - some good hip openers. I soon forgot how he looked and of my first impression and got into the class. The hour long class flew by.

Lesson learned (again)
I thanked the guy after the class. I felt great. The class was a perfect way to start the day. I would've never guessed if I had saw this guy on the street that he was into yoga - but he was a great instructor. Manmound is back from vacation but I certainly wouldn't mind if the big guy subs for him again.
