learning something new
Dave used to bike a lot - but now he's playing ice hockey and I'm off biking all over the place. That equals to us not doing much together -esp when i'm gone a lot on the weekends. He always says "we need to find something to *do* together" and my response is "well...we *used* to bike together" and then he says "I'm not into that anymore." :( :(
Anyways - Dave's been playing guitar for ~6 years now and I think he's pretty good. I've always heard that it's a hard instrument to learn to play (and I'm not musically gifted) and have never been that interested in learning. But I was listening to Ani DeFranco the other day and thought - 'i'd love to be able to play that song'.
So I've asked Dave to teach me to play. He bought me a beginner guitar and amp and has been teaching me. I must say he's a way good teacher and it's so much fun to practice with him.
I do suck big time - but I'm getting better (or I suck less every day). I've been practicing every day so far...let's see if it sticks. ;)
