collective memory
It's so awesome having a tech-savvy son. He's always sending me links of things he finds interesting.
He sent me this email the other day "Mom - holy moly...talk about incredible technology/programming http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/view/id/129 "
It's a longish video but when the speaker pulls it all together at the end and talks about the collective memory pulling together a pic of Norte Dame - it IS mind-boggling.
With so much information readily available it's just a matter of time when we reach the theme so common in sci-fi where everyone has their personal AI that feeds them information or we all have chips embedded somewhere in our bodies.
I am optimistic I'll live to see that day. Even tho I recently had a conversation with Lucy Sanders where she told me the only company doing "pure research" since Bell Labs has closed down is Microsoft. Which is in line with the link Ricky sent me. AND kinda along those lines I saw this interesting tidbit in Brad's blog.
I guess for now i just have to live with the ability to work remote on occasions. Like today - I'm working from the Summit County condo. here's the view. poor me, eh?? ;)

That Photosynth stuff is amazing. I saw the web site a few weeks ago and it blew my mind.
