Mom’s and Dad’s 50th Wedding Anniversary
Mom’s been excited about getting the family together to celebrate their 50 years together.

My brother, Timmy (with much assistance from his beautiful wife, Karen) did a wonderful job organizing the party, making decorations, sending out invitations, MCing the program and getting the food for the party. All the rest of us had to do was show up and write a check. ;)
My parents are wonderful people - full of energy, always happy with a child-like approach to the world. No way do they seem like they are 72 years old. After 50 years they are very much in love and still act like newlyweds. Check out this pic of my Dad singing to my Mom.
Speaking of singing - my Mom LOVES to sing. She can’t carry a tune, is woefully tone deaf plus she’s usually off-beat to the music. And when she sings – she puts all of her energy into it. It’s cute and a bit embarrassing at the same time.
So when my Mom sang the first song of the program at the top of her lungs, off beat and horribly out-of-tune. I smiled at my Mom’s enthusiasm and as I looked over at the caterers serving the food I saw the 2 guys try not to laugh out loud and then walk out of the room. Poor guys – they had no idea what was coming.
Watching my Mom sing brought up a range of emotions for me. First - I felt immense love for my Mom as she is such a passionate person. Secondly - I felt pride as she gives 110% to her singing and everything else she does – that takes a lot of guts.. Thirdly - I was horrified as I can see myself in her. From her I’ve gotten my enthusiasm and passion which is evident in my personal relationships, work and hobbies.
So watching my Mom sing - I saw myself in her. I was laughing with pleasure and crying with horror at the same time. When I see myself in my Mom – I have to admit I sigh and cringe. (no offense Mom!)
oh...parents – gotta love them, eh??
